Now in China there are a ton of native dialects and languages, but more and more people can bridge the gap by relying on English. Some of the finest Ukrainian prostitutes in Shenzhen studied at Shenzhen University when I was there. They claimed to be "dancers." One of them did a commercial for "Big Boss Sauna" that appeared on (I think) Hong Kong TV. It was one of those, "Come over to the Mainland and have a good time" kind of things, with this student and a fat emcee guy who she called "Shenzhen Big Brother." It was kind of embarrassing.
