ESL Conversation Topic — Entertainment

This topic has many different angles. It is very important to discuss the differences between American and Chinese entertainment options.

 Warmup: Print out a list of the most popular movies in the U.S. during the last month and ask if any of your students have seen them.

 Questions to Ask:

  • What to people in China do for fun?
  • How much time do people have to entertain themselves in China?
  • Do you like to watch movies at the movie theater or at home? Why?
  • Is entertainment expensive in China? What are some less expensive options?
  • How does the internet provide entertainment for people in China?
  • Is entertainment necessary? Is it healthy? Why is it important?
