Dear Jean,
What are the top two or three programs for teaching English in China? I am looking for a program to handle everything, soup to nuts (VISA, travel, room, board, etc.).
Brad from the U.S.
Jean answers Brad’s question
Dear Brad,
It is difficult to give you a list of the top three ESL programs in China mainly because there so many. It is also important to realize that the major English companies in China have many branches so your experience would vary from location to location.
Most schools and training centers will take care of your China work visa for you because they have to ‘invite’ you to come. You will have to use their invitation documents to apply for a work visa at the nearest consulate in your home country. You should also easily be able to find a program that will provide room and board to you free of charge. However, some schools in China will give you a monthly stipend which, in my opinion, is better because it allows you to choose your place of living.
The best way for you to find a position is to start looking on the internet. You can start your search on TeachAbroadChina.com by clicking here to visit our ESL China job board. Once you have found a program that you are interested in you should look around to see what others are saying. Use Google or another search engine to do this.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
Sincerely,
Jean
