Hong Kong — I Want to Go Back

Written by Robert Vance on March 26, 2008 – 9:19 am

So today was my first trip to Hong Kong. After spending four hopeless days trying get my visa renewed at the local police station, I finally gave up and made the trip “across the border.” In the end, I wished that I had made this choice four days ago because going to Hong Kong was a fun albeit very brief experience.

I only spent one hour in Hong Kong but I liked what I saw. The narrow streets, small shops, colorful signs and international flavor attracted my sense of adventure. As I walked around the downtown area I half expected to see Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker come running at me. In fact, Hong Kong was just like I thought it would be and I would love to spend some more time in this city in the future.

For now, I am happy because my visa, which was 2 days expired, was renewed without any problem. For now I am back on the mainland in a small rather boring city but I will look forward to the next time I can make it to Hong Kong. It seems like a charming city.

How can you only spend one hour there? Where can you get your visa done that fast?
