I just got back from Walmart. What a wonderful place. They always have everything I need and then some. Sure, I can’t always find what I am looking for right away. Like tonight for example, when I was looking for flowers and I had six staff members gathered around me trying to understand what I was saying in Chinese. Finally, after a few minutes someone figured out what I was saying and pointed me in the right direction.

Throughout my world travels, Walmart has always been a “home away from home” for me. The friendly blue sign and the great deals keep me coming back for more. I know this sounds like an advertisement for the place but there is something comforting about stepping inside a Walmart when you are itching for a little American culture.

So say what you will about the giant chain. I don’t really care. All I know is that it is fun every once in a while to step inside and imagine that I am walking through the same Walmart that is just around the corner from my house in the United States.
